Setting the Network

You can register the Advanced Space (Network Place) of another machine which is open to the public by SMB or WebDAV as the external reference and share the files in the Advanced Space.
IMPORTANT
If you want to connect to the Advanced Space of another machine on the shared network, you must set the Advanced Space of the destination to Open to Public. For instructions on setting the Advanced Space to Open to Public, see "Advanced Space Settings."
Setting/Managing the Advanced Space of External Reference (Network Place)
IMPORTANT
Do not register an Advanced Space other than the Advanced Space of another machine which is open to the public, as this may cause the machine to malfunction.
1.
Press → [Function Settings] → [Store/Access Files] → [Network Settings] → [Network Place Settings] → set the Network Place.
To register the Network Place:
Press [Register] → specify each setting.
<Name>:
Enter the name for external reference.
<Protocol>:
Select [SMB] or [WebDAV] for protocol.
<Location>:
Enter the location as follows. You can enter maximum of 128 characters.
For SMB:
Shared Space: \\host name or IP address\share
Personal Space: \\host name or IP address\users
For WebDAV:
Shared Space: http(s)://host name or IP address/share
Personal Space: http(s)://host name or IP address/users
NOTE
For instructions on entering characters, see "Entering Characters from the Touch Panel Display."
Press [OK].
To check the details of the Network Place:
Select the external reference to check → press [Details].
Check the detailed information → press [OK].
To delete the Network Place:
Select the external reference to delete → press [Delete].
Press [Yes].
Setting the Protocol for External Reference
You can set the protocol for when setting the Advanced Space (Network Place) of another machine which is open to the public by SMB or WebDAV as the external reference.

Press → [Function Settings] → [Store/Access Files] → [Network Settings] → [Protocol for External Reference].

Select [On] for the protocol to use → press [OK].
<SMB>:
[On]:
SMB is used.
[Off]:
SMB is not used.
<WebDAV>:
[On]:
WebDAV is used.
[Off]:
WebDAV is not used.
