You can delete a file stored in a mail box, move and duplicate a file, combine multiple files and store them as one file, and scan and store a new file in a mail box that is currently being open.
Adding Files (Scan and Store)
This section describes how to scan originals and store a file in a mail box.
1.
Select the desired Mail Box.
2.
Press [Edit File].
3.
Press [Add Files (Scan and Store)].
The Scan Settings screen is displayed.
4.
Place your originals → select the desired scan settings → scan your originals and store them as a file.
For more information on the scan settings, see "Scan and Store."
Deleting a File
1.
Select the desired Mail Box.
2.
Select the file that you want to delete → press [Edit File].
3.
Press [Delete].
To select all of the files (up to 100 files from the top) in the mail box, press [Select All (Max 100 Files)]. If a file is already selected, this key appears as [Clear Selection] instead.
NOTE
You can cancel a selection by selecting the file again.
To cancel all files, press [Clear Selection]. ([Clear Selection] changes to [Select All (Max 100 Files)].)
4.
Press [Yes].
Moving/Duplicating a File
1.
Select the desired Mail Box.
2.
Select the file that you want to move or duplicate → press [Edit File].
To select all of the files (up to 100 files from the top) in the mail box, press [Select All (Max 100 Files)]. If a file is already selected, this key appears as [Clear Selection] instead.
NOTE
You can cancel a selection by selecting the file again.
To cancel all files, press [Clear Selection]. ([Clear Selection] changes to [Select All (Max 100 Files)].)
3.
Press [Move/Duplicate].
4.
Select the mail box which you want to move or duplicate the file into → press [Duplicate] or [Move].
You cannot move or duplicate a file to multiple mail boxes at once.
If the file cannot be moved or duplicated to the selected mail box, a message appears telling you that the move or duplication cannot be performed.
If the file cannot be moved or duplicated to the selected mail box, it remains in the original Mail Box.
If an error occurs while multiple files are being moved or duplicated, the number of files that are moved or duplicated successfully is displayed.
NOTE
The name of the moved or duplicated file is the same as that of the original file.
If the control panel power switch is turned OFF while files are being moved or duplicated, only those files that have been processed up to the time when the power is turned OFF, are moved or duplicated successfully.
Combining Multiple Files into a Single File
This mode enables you to combine multiple files in the same mail box as one file to create a new file.
IMPORTANT
You cannot use the Merge Multiple Files mode if the resolutions of the selected files differ.
You can set the Merge Multiple Files mode only for files in the same mail box.
If there are 2,000 files in all of the mail boxes, you cannot perform the Merge Multiple Files mode.
1.
Select the desired Mail Box.
2.
Select the files to be merged in the order in which you want to merge them → press [Edit File].
3.
Press [Merge Multiple Files].
4.
Press [File Name] → enter the file's name → press [OK] → [Start].
If the memory is full while you are merging and saving, a message informing you that you cannot merge is displayed.
NOTE
If you create a file without giving it a name, the machine automatically assigns the file a name using the year, month, day, and time the file was created. For example, if a file is created at 1:35 PM, 41 seconds, on January 15, 2010, its name will be <20100115133541>.
If print settings have been stored for the selected files, the settings are not carried over to the new file.
5.
Press [OK].
Inserting a File into Another File
This mode enables you to insert a file before a specified page of another file in the same mail box, to create a new file.
IMPORTANT
You cannot use the Insert Pages mode if the resolutions of the selected files differ.
You can set the Insert Pages mode only for files in the same mail box.
If there are 2,000 files in all of the mail boxes, you cannot set the Insert Pages mode.
1.
Select the desired Mail Box.
2.
Select the file into which you want to insert another file → press [Edit File].
3.
Press [Insert Pages].
NOTE
If you select multiple files and press [Insert Pages], the selected (highlighted) file becomes the file that is inserted.
4.
Select the file you want to insert.
A checkmark is displayed to the left of the selected file.
You can cancel a selection by selecting the file again.
IMPORTANT
You cannot select multiple files.
5.
Enter the number of the page before which you want to insert the selected file using  -  (numeric keys) → press [Next].
You can check images stored in the file in which you are inserting by pressing [Display Image]. (See "Preview.")
6.
Press [File Name After Insert.] → enter the file's name → press [OK] → [Start].
If memory is insufficient while you are using the Insert Pages mode, a message appears to inform you that you cannot insert the file.

Deleting Part of a File
This mode enables you to delete pages from a file that is stored in a mail box.
IMPORTANT
If you select all the pages of a file, the entire file is erased.
1.
Select the desired Mail Box.
2.
Select the file that you want to delete pages from → press [Edit File].
3.
Press [Delete Pages].
NOTE
If you select multiple files and press [Delete Pages], the selected (highlighted) file becomes the file pages will be deleted from.
4.
Press [Delete Single Page] or [Delete Pages Con.] → specify the number(s) of the page(s) you want to delete.
If [Delete Single Page] is selected:
Select the page to be erased using [-] and [+].
You can check images stored in the file in which you are inserting by pressing [Display Image]. (See "Preview.")
If [Delete Pages Con.] is selected:
Press [First Page] and [Last Page] → select the first and last pages to be deleted using [-] or [+].
You can check images stored in the file in which you are inserting by pressing [Display Image]. (See "Preview.")
5.
Press [Start] → [Yes].
