      Document Jams in the Feeder
      Check the location of the paper jam on the touch panel display, and follow the procedure described in this section to clear the paper jam.

      Remove documents from the document supply tray.

      Open the feeder cover.

      Remove the document that is visible in the feeder cover.
      4
      Lift the release lever, and remove the jammed document while rotating the dial.
      Lift the release lever.
      Turn the dial counterclockwise, and remove the jammed document.
      The jammed document moves to the document output tray.
      Lower the release lever.

      Close the feeder cover.
      6
      Remove the jammed document from the bottom of the feeder.
      Open the feeder.
      Remove the jammed document.
      Gently close the feeder.

      Follow the instructions on the touch panel display.
      Resume the procedure that was interrupted.
      NOTE
      When multiple sheets are fed
      Scanning is stopped and the message is displayed on the screen. Follow the message and start operation. To set to not notify with a message, press <Options> on the Copy/Fax/Scan Basic Features screen  <Detect Feeder Multi Sheet Fd.> to disable the setting each time you send the document, or set <Set Detection of Feeder Multi. Sheet Feed as Default> to <Off> (<Scan Settings>  <Set Detection of Feeder Multi. Sheet Feed as Default>).
